■Film 'FUJIKO'

The film "FUJIKO," directed by Taichi Kimura, known for "AFTERGLOWS," King Gnu's music videos, and commercials for NIKE and Louis Vuitton, and planned and produced by MEGUMI, who is active in "Her Lost Love" and Netflix's "Love Jyoto," will be released nationwide on June 5 (Fri.) at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya and other theaters.
This film was officially selected for the competition section of the 28th Udine Far East Film Festival, and was the first Japanese film to simultaneously win both the Grand Prize and the Special Audience Award.
The story is set in Shizuoka in the 1970s and 80s. Tomoki Katayama, who won the 46th Hochi Film Award for New Artist and the 43rd Yokohama Film Festival Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film "Akaneiro ni Yakaretate," plays Fujiko, a single mother who carves out her life while resisting established values and social norms amidst rapid change. It is a human drama depicting a woman living in a turbulent era who searches for her own way of life and powerfully moves forward while overcoming difficulties.
